A renowned expert in mechanical engineering and entrepreneurship, Armando Colimodio has recently excelled as the founder of Colrod Trading LLC since 2019 and head of supply chain management at Black Forest Supplements since 2021. Before these roles, he achieved a remarkable feat by establishing the Colsen Fire Pit on Amazon, a business that was initiated in his mother’s garage after he quit his previous job at Hayward Industries, Inc.—where he was active between 2008 and 2019 as a manufacturing engineer, commodities manager, manufacturing manager, and a materials manager. Through tireless efforts and dedication, he developed this business from scratch into a 500-square-foot warehouse. His hard work and commitment paid off handsomely when he sold it in November 2023 for a whopping $4 million, marking it a significant milestone in his entrepreneurial journey.
In addition to his current roles, Mr. Colimodio holds a patent for an electric cable swivel and related fabrication methods and is involved in a project called Apapachos, which is in partnership with Amazon and sells stuffed animals for children with autism. He owns 10 percent of the company, and these stuffed animals weigh about five pounds, designed to provide comfort and security for children. He credits his numerous achievements to the various opportunities offered by Amazon as well as the sellers, especially those from the Latin community. He has been featured in a promotional video produced by Amazon and was a guest on the podcast, Wizards of Ecom, where he told his success story. He has plans to establish more projects and businesses in the future, including a new company called Enjoint, LLC.
Originally from Venezuela, Mr. Colimodio graduated from high school there and relocated to the United States, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 2005 and then a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University in 2013.
